A dental emergency abroad is stressful enough without the language barrier. At Clínica Dental Doctores Tarazona in Campanar, our doctors speak English fluently. When you call or arrive, we will communicate with you directly — no interpreters, no confusion at the moment when clear communication matters most.
Common Dental Emergencies We Treat
Severe Toothache
Sudden, intense tooth pain usually indicates an infection or inflammation of the dental nerve. We will diagnose the cause with a digital X-ray and either treat the infection directly or manage your pain and schedule the definitive treatment within days. Do not try to wait it out — dental infections can escalate quickly.
Broken or Chipped Tooth
Whether from an accident, biting something hard, or a weakened filling that gave way, a broken tooth needs prompt attention. Depending on the extent of the fracture, we can often repair it in a single visit with composite bonding or a temporary crown.
Knocked-Out Tooth
Time is critical. If you can, place the tooth back in its socket or keep it in milk (not water). Come to the clinic immediately — reimplantation is most successful within the first 30 to 60 minutes.
Lost Filling or Crown
A lost restoration exposes the underlying tooth to bacteria and sensitivity. We can provide a temporary replacement the same day and schedule the permanent restoration promptly.
Swollen Gums or Abscess
Swelling, pus, or a persistent bad taste can indicate a dental abscess. This requires professional drainage and often antibiotics. Do not attempt to treat it at home beyond basic pain relief.
What to Do Before You Get Here
Take over-the-counter pain relief such as ibuprofen (400 mg) if you have no allergy or contraindication. Apply a cold pack to the outside of your cheek if there is swelling. Avoid very hot or very cold food and drink. If a tooth has been knocked out, handle it by the crown only and keep it moist.
Costs and Payment
Emergency consultations include examination and X-ray. We will give you a clear price for any treatment needed before we proceed. We accept card payments and can provide invoices in English for your insurance provider if required. If you hold a valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), note that it covers emergency dental treatment in public centres, but not private clinics — however, private emergency care in Spain is typically faster and more affordable than many patients expect.
Location and Access
We are in Campanar, at Avenida Maestro Rodrigo 54. If you are in the city centre, we are a ten-minute drive or a short metro ride (Túria station, lines 1 and 2). There is street parking available nearby.
