Endodontics

Conservative Dentistry encompasses all those treatments aimed at saving and keeping the patient's natural teeth in the mouth. The most common procedures within this speciality are fillings and root canal treatments.

Avoid extractions and implants with our endodontists

Root canal treatment is a procedure carried out when very deep cavities are found in the teeth. These cavities damage the nerve, causing the tooth and the entire surrounding area to become infected. It is at this point that a root canal is needed to heal the tooth and save it without having to extract it.

TAILORED TO THE PATIENT

How is a root canal carried out?

A root canal, also called endodontic treatment, involves removing the pulp from inside the affected tooth with special tools; the root contents (vessels and nerves) are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned thoroughly. It is then disinfected, dried and filled with resin and a sealing cement to prevent empty spaces and avoid subsequent infections.
