What is teeth whitening?

Teeth whitening is a cosmetic dental treatment that lightens the original colour of the teeth by several shades, leaving the teeth whiter and brighter.
Whitening removes most of the stains caused by medications or by extrinsic causes such as tea, coffee and other infusions, cigarettes and red wine, among other substances and foods.
The light lamp acts on the activators in the treatment gel, increasing its oxygen-release capacity and therefore its whitening properties.

What does combined whitening involve?

Below, we explain how the treatment is carried out at our practice and at the patient's home:

In-clinic stage

We use a mouth opener to separate all the mucosa from the application area and a gingival barrier to protect the gum from any contact. The gel is applied to the tooth enamel, in 3 sessions of 10 minutes each. Afterwards, impressions are taken to make the trays that the patient will take home to continue the treatment.

At-home stage

We provide the trays + 2 whitening syringes. The patient wears the trays at night. In each tray, both upper and lower, a minimal amount of gel (about the size of a pea) is applied. After removing them, you simply brush your teeth and thoroughly clean any gel residue left in the tray. This process can be repeated as many times as the patient wishes, until the ideal result is achieved.
